SUPER FINE RESTORED GEORGE III PERIOD CIRCA 1820 WiNGBACK BROWN LEATHER ARMCHAIR

Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning, fully restored, hand dyed, very rare George III circa 1820 Wingback armchair Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote, please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price. A simply glorious piece, the frame has the traditional George III narrow wings and flat top arms, it is the exact right size, the stud work is ornate and expertly tacked all over. The seat base is coil sprung and very comfortable. The base frame is what's called a traditional H frame and was popular with Thomas Chippendale and George Hepplewhite designs. The chair has very rare back legs, they have an extreme outwards turn and are have sawn from single pieces of wood, they put an interesting spin on a usually ignored part of the wingback The chair has fully restored to include being upholstered with premium Italian cattle hide leather, this is upholstered plain and then hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed waxed down and polished, it is in sublime order throughout Dimension Height:- 117cm Width:- 75cm Depth:- 70cm Seat height:- 54cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask. Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
